Correct! {:-)]> - You sure know your gods!
In the Bible God reveals himself to Moses as 'El Elyon' and 'El Shaddai' in identity with the chief Canaanite god 'El'. ('Elyon' and 'Shaddai' are two adjectives meaning 'Most High' and 'Almighty'. See Gen 14:17-20, 17:1-2 and Ex 6:3.) El is represented in surviving statues as an old man with a beard, so El is no doubt the origin of this traditional image of God.
